they’re the ones who got into the losers bracket. If they’d won all 3 games like we did, they’d have as many pitchers. I’m not impressed with the “we played worse than you did & you benefitted from it” excuse.
I don’t think they had an excuse, either. I’m just trying to look on the bright side of this rainout instead of looking at it as “woe is us, we’ve lost our advantage.”
Gives the players another day to study the pitcher and Knight to study the batters. Their pitcher can’t handle pressure as been the case during their run.

I can see that. However, I’m not “woe is us” but I still hate that our mound advantage is lessened by some amount. I hope not enough to make a difference. For that matter, I hope it wouldn’t matter at all, but my only interest is that we win. And I admit I’m nervous. I know we’re as good as they are. We might be even better, but the taste of a championship is just so close…let’s just say I’m on edge.
I get it. I’ll take every advantage we can get, even a blown call by an umpire that goes our way. I wish it hadn’t rained and we’d been at full advantage. But I think it coiuld be even sweeter to go 5-0 in Omaha against the best at their very best.
I look at it this way. The hogs have gotten to the best of 3 playoff for the NC by beating Florida, Texas Tech and Texas in 3 games. That’s a tougher road to travel than the one Oregon State traveled playing 5 games going 4-1. Its time for the hogs to earn it on the field.
Blaine Knight needs to have a solid outing and the hogs need to come out and score some early runs.
You are correct about the crowd. As we drove in tonight the GA line was the length of about two city blocks. I would venture to say that for every orange shirt in that line there were 150-200 red shirts.
This reminds me a little bit of the Liberty Bowl a few years ago against Kansas State because of the proximity to Fayetteville and discrepancy in fans. I remember one of the K-State reporters remarking that he had underestimated the number of people from Arkansas who would show up in Memphis. He did not know his geography very well.
