Player of the first half: Chandler Morris, QB, Highland Park

Article from Dallas news

Morris replaced 2017 SportsDayHS Player of the Year John Stephen Jones as Highland Park’s quarterback and has been up to the challenge. He has Highland Park undefeated at 5-0 and his pace is just off of Jones’ astronomical marks from a year ago. Last year Jones averaged 306.9 passing yards, 3.8 touchdowns and 0.3 interceptions per game. Morris’ numbers this year: 276.6 passing yards, 3.2 touchdowns and 0.4 interceptions per game. If Morris can take Highland Park to another title, he’ll have a tremendous case to follow Jones as SportsDayHS Player of the Year.
