So we still owe Long $4.5 million over next four years?
Sheesh. Someone REALLY wanted him gone. Enough to pay for that on top of CBB buyout, new coach, new stadium.

Just curious if the “last in the SEC in academics” would satisfy the “just cause” part
to get out of the Long contract payout. Though I do not believe it 4.5 million, I think
his buy-out was/is around the 100K neighborhood.
On Twitter Trey Schaap reporting we owe him $4.5.
Also in Matt’s story - says we will “honor Long’s contract.” And he’s paid $1.1/year.
That academics stat is from long ago, barely into his tenure. Why can’t those stats be more current, it would be nice to know how they have changed in BB’s era.

[/quote]Probably because they take 4 consecutive classes, and then follow them for their 4-year college cycle, PLUS 2 years.
I’m like you in that I do believe that the last 3 or 4 years we’ve made a lot of positive progress with regard to academics - particularly in football. But I also understand that to have “oranges to oranges” comparison of metrics, the same methodology needs to be used. And that means we won’t have comparative figures for that period for another 3 or 4 years.
