Pete Thamel on CFB Season

I’ve thought the same thing for about a month now. MLB’s problems, the problems suffered by the player at Indiana, & the PAC-12 players concerns all point to cancellation. Add in the almost certain explosion of cases when school starts & just don’t see football happening this fall. Maybe if we have a vaccine that’s readily available early next year, we might be able to have a few spring football games. We might even have something of a basketball season that starts in January. But I’m afraid the earliest shot at normal college sports will be baseball & that’s far from certain.

Hate to say it, but the American people don’t want to do what is necessary to contain this virus the way European & Asian nations have. There’s too much pressure to move ahead. Because of that, we’re still going to try to have football until about Labor Day or maybe a week or two after, but I think the writing is on the wall.
