Drafted: No. 99 in 2021Kopps was a 24-year-old, fifth-year senior as the closer for the University of Arkansas last spring when the Padres took him in the third round. Pro ball didn’t faze him, as he continued to dominate by throwing his slider the majority of the time, and he’ll go as far as that pitch will take him. He throws it for strikes and keeps attacking hitters, so I like his chances to at least end up a quality middle reliever in the big leagues.
