I admit I’m not the biggest UFC fan, I watch at it, but did enjoy this article.
I have always assumed it was another professional wrestling thing. fake.
If not, why is it allowed?
Definitely not fake, Bob.
No deaths in UFC, unlike Boxing. Misconception is the gloves in boxing, very padded. So can take a pounding for 12 rounds. Ever hear any old boxers being interviewed? UFC has very light padding in the gloves worn, you get a solid shot, you go out. Most fights are scheduled for three 5 minute rounds, most fights do not go the distance. So technically the argument is it’s much safer vs boxing.
Boxing is fak, er, fixed.
The only thing I don’t like about UFC is the ground fighting.
I have to agree for the most part, not so much the ground fighting, I respect a good submission guy, but the up against the ropes for most of the round. Boring.
I sorta hate to ask this but…… what’s a rear naked choke?
Click on the link I posted, scroll down jus’ a little, watch the vid starting at about 1:30, the opponent concedes the fight w the tap out.
Like you don’t know, lol.
Yeah, I forget who asked the ? Got me.
I was thinking it was sorta like a colonoscopy.
Sorta, but not quite that bad.
You could ask the same question about football. Why is it allowed? More serious injuries in football than UFC… and maybe worse prognosis in the long-term.
YUP and Yup
Plus crimminals allowed !
I have been watching UFC since the first season of Ultimate Fighter. I was a complete noob about ground fighting as I had grown up watching the biggest boxing matches on tv with my dad. Once I understood what was going on when they went to the mat it changed my fascination with grappling. Two great grapplers is equally or more entertaining to me as two good stand up fighters. Either way the absolute smallest mistake will get you beat in an instant.
Whatta you think on the Nunes - Pena rematch?
I’d like to watch it. How much does it cost?
