Odd historical note

Last time we had this kind of pandemic, in 1918, the Missouri Valley Conference did not play a conference schedule or select a champion. Nebraska was one of its members and played anyway, going 2-3-1 (the tie was with Notre Dame) with two games against military teams. Now 102 years later, Nebraska’s conference is again not having a conference schedule and the Huskers still want to play anyway. Don’t think they’ll be playing any military teams though.

Also in 1918, OU and Texas were both undefeated in Southwest Conference play (yes…OU was in the old SWC originally) but never played each other that season. Arkansas only played 5 games…including an ignominious 0-103 loss to the Sooners.
