It was a good crowd. I bet the vast majority are people who’ve never or rarely get to BWS for a game. They were loud. I suspect most of the crowd was like me–they kept expecting us to break out with a big inning. It just didn’t happen.
People focus on our poor hitting night, but our pitching was outstanding. McIntyre was great. The only pitcher who scared me was Adamiak. He walked the first batter he faced (I think it was 4 straight balls) and got behind 0-2 on the next one. DVH pulled him quickly.
Anyway, we only allowed one run. A lead-off double in the 6th scored after two soft ground ball outs got him home. I think that was the only extra base hit UCA had
