Is there a reason that videos of press conferences are uploaded well after the conference? Most of the time, a competing paid sight (to whom I don’t pay) has put its video well ahead of this sight, sometimes by more than an hour. I love the content of WHS and believe it is by far the best place to find Razorback sports news. Keep up the good work.
The cameras we use don’t shoot in Mp4 but the video has to be in that format in order to be uploaded to this site, so we have to run it through a converter, which adds some time to the process.
There may be an alternate method we’re able to begin using shortly, but I’ll defer to Matt on that since he has a better grasp of the situation.
We are in the soft launch stage for an OTT app where you will be able to watch press conferences and other video features on your streaming devices like Roku, Firestick and Apple TV. We’ll have more information on this soon.
Because of that, we shoot at a higher aspect ratio than I suspect folks do when they are posting only for a website. This creates larger files and a longer conversion process. I can assure you that the video is uploaded as soon as it is ready.
The Bielema video today was online at 12:14 p.m. He stepped away from the podium at 11:55.
Thanks, Jimmy and Matt. I appreciate the candor. Also, good to know progress is always taking place.
