New Rule in College baseball about HR's

Everyone must remain in the dugout, need to call that the Vitello rule after he let his litle hoodlums dance and prance around wearing that stupid fur coat!! I love it!! that will put a little kink in their hose trying to show off!

This will take a lot of signature, celebrations at the home plate away from teams. I wished they would’ve issued certain things that wouldn’t be allow.

Celebrations will just be in the dugout.

So what are the consequences if a team comes on the field after a HR?

rule changes also include the “option” of extra innings starting with runner on second. No penalty noted for prop violation. lots of sports radio and media beeching in TN about no fun allowed. It also takes A$M Pringles celebration which was a NIL bump to their kids.

I don’t like the extra inning “ghost” runner situation, I know it’s all about saving time but game needs to be played the same way every inning for it to feel like it was an official game… I hope that does not filter down into college

I think players can still celebrate home runs outside the dugout. The rule targeted using props outside the dugout — think the fur coat and pink hat at Tennessee, Oklahoma State’s cowboy hat, Arkansas’ hog hat and foam finger from a few years back, etc. You can still use props as long as it is only done in the dugout.

The coaches must agree to placing the runner on second base. Dave Van Horn will not agree to that.

Yeah, I heard him say he didn’t like it and wouldn’t agree to it.
I’m with DVH on this one as well. LEAVE THE GAME ALONE!! Next thing you know, there will be someone come up with the idea to flip a coin to decide who wins if a game goes to extra innings. Just kidding, but wouldn’t surprise me either.

I could see DVH agreeing to the zombie runner on a cold midweek afternoon game with 75 people in the stands. Maybe.
