New basketball prospect to visit Hogs

2018 G Fred Thatch, 6-3, 180 of Sikeston, (Mo.) will make an unofficial visit to Arkansas on Dec. 10.

He averaged 20.7 points, 10 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.5 steals a game as a sophomore. The Missouri Basketball Coaches Association named him the Class 4 Player of the Year. He was also named to the MaxPreps Boys Basketball Sophomore All-American second team.

He has offers from Missouri, Tulsa and St. Louis.

Assistant Scotty Thurman is recruiting Thatch.

Fred said he won’t be able to make it this weekend.

Talked to Fred tonight and he plans to visit for a game in Jan.

His coach’s wife is from Arkansas and is a huge Razorback fan. He said she has given a history lesson on the program.

Never hurts to have the coach’s wife recruiting for you. Unless that’s somehow an NCAA violation… :?:

LOL. No doubt. That’s what you call a pervious relaltionship so it’s all good.

pervious relationship?

An existing relationship before the prospect gets to the ninth grade and becomes recruitable

Fred’s a good kid–both athletically and academically. Watched him play lots of basketball in Sikeston. He continues to develop his game. Sikeston is known for its fast-paced style game.

He so impressed me when we talked. He has his stuff together.
