McCann and Giolito no-hit Pittsburg

I’m so happy James caught him tonight! Also happy for Giolito and my White Sox!

From The Athletic article on the No-No is an example of the good man that we all know James to be.

McCann shot up from his crouch like a rocket with enthusiasm upon the final out, and turned and did something you rarely see any player do in a positive way. He turned and smiled and pointed to home plate umpire C.B. Bucknor, and not to acknowledge his questionable strike-three call on Gregory Polanco in the fifth inning, either.

“It’s history,” McCann said. “It’s something for him that he’ll remember being behind the plate for a no-hitter. I just wanted to acknowledge the work that he did tonight, and just as much as Lucas and I’ll remember it, he’ll remember being behind the plate. I don’t know off the top of my head if he’s ever been behind the plate for a no-hitter, but whether he has or not, he’ll remember tonight for the rest of his life.”
