Matt: When will baseball schedule

come out for 2017?

It will probably be in November. I typically find out most of the games in September and will post them here as I do.

The ones I know about so far:

  • Frisco College Classic vs. Nebraska, Arizona and Oklahoma State

  • Two-game midweek series vs. Grand Canyon

The season opening series is vs. Miami (OH): http://www.wholehogsports.com/news/2016 … -miami-oh/

Arkansas will play at Kauffman Stadium next April: http://www.wholehogsports.com/news/2016 … nsas-city/

Kansas State will likely be the opponent in Kansas City. The game organizers have also had discussions with Iowa.

Here are the other games I know about:

Weekend - vs. Miami (Ohio), Bryant and Pacific. Bryant has become a really good program and beat the Razorbacks in the NCAA regional a few years ago.

Midweek - vs. Memphis in Fayetteville and North Little Rock. Will also play Grand Canyon, Grambling and ULM at home. Will play two games at Louisiana Tech prior to the Frisco Classic. Trying to schedule at least one game with Missouri State.

I do hope we are not playing Miss Valley State this year. They do nothing for your RPI if you win and takes a nosedive if you lose!

Almost every SEC team is going to play that type of team a couple of times each year. For instance, Arkansas is going to play Grambling. When it starts to hurt the RPI is when there are 5 or 7 games against those types. Sometimes the games are put together last second because of weather.

Some more dates:

March 31-April 2 - at Alabama

April 11 - at Missouri State

April 28-30 - vs. Ole Miss

Here is everything I’ve been able to piece together about the schedule:

Feb. 17-19 - vs. Miami (Ohio)
Feb. 24-26 - vs. Bryant
Feb. 28-March 1 - at Louisiana Tech
March 3 - Arizona (in Frisco, Texas)

March 31-April 2 - at Alabama
April 7-9 - vs. LSU
April 11 - at Missouri State
April 21-23 - at Auburn
April 28-30 - vs. Ole Miss

Known opponents with dates TBA: vs. Grand Canyon; vs. Memphis in Fayetteville; vs. Memphis in North Little Rock; vs. Grambling State; vs. ULM; vs. Mississippi State; at Texas A&M.

Known venue with opponent TBA: Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City on a Tuesday in late April; likely vs. Kansas State.

I am pretty sure Arkansas is going to play Georgia and Vanderbilt at home, based on out-of-division rotations. That would mean the Razorbacks would play home series against those two, plus Ole Miss, LSU and Mississippi State.

The away series would be against Alabama, Auburn, Texas A&M, Tennessee and either Florida or Missouri, based on rotation.

Georgia games added:

Feb. 17-19 - vs. Miami (Ohio)
Feb. 24-26 - vs. Bryant
Feb. 28-March 1 - at Louisiana Tech
March 3 - Arizona (in Frisco, Texas)
March 4 - Nebraska (in Frisco, Texas)
March 5 - Oklahoma State (in Frisco, Texas)
March 10-12 - vs. Pacific
March 31-April 2 - at Alabama
April 7-9 - vs. LSU
April 11 - at Missouri State
April 13-15 - vs. Georgia
April 18 - Memphis
April 19 - Memphis (in North Little Rock)
April 21-23 - at Auburn
April 28-30 - vs. Ole Miss
May 5-7 - at Tennessee

You can scratch Pacific from the schedule. It bought out its series with the Razorbacks, so Arkansas will be playing another team in that final nonconference weekend series. I’m told it will still be at home and may actually be an upgrade over Pacific.

April 19 - Memphis (in North Little Rock)
