Right now Taylor would make the cut, but it may move this afternoon (assuming they get the round in; the same front that wiped out Hog baseball last night is headed for Augusta).
Looks like Mateo will need a 69 this afternoon/tomorrow to make the cut.
The Aggie Sam Bennett is 4 under today and is alone in second place.
The A&M coach said Bennett’s basically been blowing off college golf for the last few months to prepare for the Masters. It seems to have worked.
Mateo is one-over so far today. Not looking like he’ll join Bennett as SEC golfers making the cut. But the same applies for Gordon Sargent of Vandy, who finished the second round 9-over.
It would be something else to have an armature win the Masters. Odds are he loses ground Saturday or Sunday but that would be remarkable.

On the other hand, Mateo is back to even for the day through 9, is playing with Bubba Watson and beating him by three shots. So he has that going for him.
