Latest projections

We’re almost three-quarters through the regular season and Arkansas still is in good shape to be a national seed.

D1Baseball has Arkansas as the No. 2 national seed behind Florida, and Baseball America has the Razorbacks the No. 3 national seed behind Florida and Stanford.

I don’t pay as much attention to the teams they have in the regionals at this point because I don’t think anyone really knows. But for what it’s worth, here are the other teams projected in the Fayetteville regional:

D1Baseball: Oklahoma, Creighton and Oral Roberts

Baseball America: Oklahoma State, Missouri State and Oral Roberts (same as 2017) … -april-17/ … l-18-2018/

The latest NCAA RPI has Arkansas at No. 4. Texas Tech, which comes here for two games next week, is No. 3.

Here is the latest RPI for Arkansas’ opponents this season:

Bucknell, 208
Arizona, 32
Cal Poly, 196
San Diego State, 58
San Diego, 94
Dayton, 236
Southern Cal, 111
Kent State, 59
Texas, 23
Kentucky, 15
Charlotte, 101
Florida, 1
Memphis, 224
Ole Miss, 5
ULM, 146
Auburn, 14
Grambling, 275
South Carolina, 73
Missouri State, 60
Mississippi State, 56
Texas Tech, 3
Alabama, 50
LSU, 37
Texas A&M, 11
Georgia, 8

By the looks of it things don’t get any easier. I hope the hogs can finish these last 17 games 13 -4. That be wishful thinking.

Seems like every time we host, at least two of those 3 teams are the visitors. I understand the regional aspect, but it would be nice to see Oklahoma, TCU or Texas come up (assuming they don’t host). Goodness knows that Arkansas has been sent to Austin several times.

That’s why it was SO good to get their burnt-orange arses up here (FINALLY!) this season.

I notice that neither D1 nor Baseball America have LSU hosting. People in Baton Rouge will go into shock. They’re used to not having to leave the Box until they get to Omaha.

I sure hope it stays that way!
Wouldn’t it be GREAT, if we could sweep LSU at their place! That would shock them as well!
