Boys:

GAME 1
LR Parkview 66, Fort Bend (Texas) Hightower 63 - Final

• Little Rock Parkview sophomore Dallas Thomas (6-8, 167) - who has an Arkansas offer - had 12 points as five Patriots scored in double figures

• LR Parkview - coached by former Arkansas star and assistant coach Scotty Thurman - moves on to play Tuesday night at 8:15 against the winner of De La Salle vs. Goose Creek

• Arkansas assistant Gus Argenal is on hand and head Eric Musselman is apparently due in later today.

GAME 2
St. Louis Christian Brothers 63, Raymond, Miss. 54 - final

• Christian Brothers was without head coach Justin Tatum (Jayson’s dad) and star Larry Hughes, Jr. - who both have covid. Justin was in Boston this weekend. He and Jayson both tested positive.

• It did have 7-foot-2 sophomore center John Bol, who had 15 points, 11 rebounds and 7 blocks

Christian Brothers advances to play the winner of Beamont and Watson Chapel on Tuesday.

GAME 3

Baytown (Texas) Goose Creek Memorial, 80, Chicago De Le Salle 60 - Final

Dariyus Woodson with 23 and Sam Bradford 21 for the winners while DaJuan Bates had a game-high 35 points for De La Salle. Bradford has a Texas A&M offer.

Arkansas head coach Eric Musselman is now in the building for the final five games of the day - all featuring in-state teams.

Game 4
Shreveport Huntington 51, White Hall 41 - Final

Freshman Jai’Chaunn Hayes with 18 for White Hall.

Game 5:

Magnolia 55 , St. Louis Cardinal Ritte 47

• Arkansas signee Derrian Ford with 24 points

Magnolia has won 61 of its past 62 games.

Game 6

Beaumont (Texas) United 66 Watson Chapel 18 - final

• We have our first mismatch of the day.
It was 39-12 at halftime and 60-12 at one point

• Houston signee Terrance Archneaux had 15 points for Beaumont United while junior guard Wesley Yates (6-4) - who has an Arkansas offer - had 13.

Game 7

North Little Rock 77, Shreveport Calvary Baptist 46 - final

Oregon signee Kel’el Ware with 24 rebounds and Arkansas signee Nick Smith with 19 points and 9 assists

Ware was 8 of 8 from the floor with four dunks, but is also 2 of 2 from 3 and 2 of 2 from the FT line in the first half

Smith was 5 of 8 from the field, 1 of 4 from 3 and 1 of 1 from the FT line

Game 8:
• Antioch (Tenn.) Cane Ridge 62, Pine Bluff 57

Alabama signee Brandon Miller - the best friend and former Bradley Beal AAU teammate of Arkansas signee Nick Smith - had 34 points to lead his team to the win, He did so in front of Alabama head coach Nate Oats.

Miller and Smith’s teams will play Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

How’d they get so far behind?

I watched Magnolia and left. Too late for me.

The two girls game lasted longer than expected.

Of course, I think planning on having a game every 75 minutes was a little ambitious.

small correction, it is Cane Ridge and even though it is in Antioch there is no biblical connecton. Hence not Cain even though Brandon Miller is very, very able. Has progressed a lot over the summer and is much more motivated than previous.
