Keep an eye on ...

Hunter Yurachek for the AD spot. You keep hearing Derrick Gragg, the Tulsa AD. But I like what I read about Yurachek and what has happened at Houston.

Here is his bio from the Houston Cougar website: … 88852.html … 7306081280

Good Lord I read that “hiring Houston Nutt as AD”

I about had a heart attack!

Boom! Football scoop is reporting we just hired him. Good call Clay!

He was the AD at Coastal Carolina for four years. Somehow, I find that funny.

Hell of a hire, much better than Gragg. This guy knows how to hire a football coach!

What about Sumlin?

OK, I had just posted that the Board taking no action was a problem. What I didn’t think about was the AD may not be a position the the Board has to LEGALLY approve (practically, yes, legally no), so they would not have voted to approve the hire (hence the “no action”) but told the Chancellor “hire him.”

Can he do something about that beat down his old team did to his new team Saturday night?

Reading that Hunter Yurachek the Houston AD is set to be announced as our new AD

Joe Steinmetz might have had a little conversation with this guy on Saturday. Something resembling an interview.

Just heard that

Now we’re agreeing. Helluva resume at CC and Houston, including student athletes making good GPA.

No doubt, he’s hired good coaches.

Hopefully he can hire us Morris or Sumlin.

I actually suggested this on the Board Saturday night.

Partly in jest because I had no idea who their AD was.

But I did say it. Threw it out there and it stuck. Makes me a genius, right???

Played basketball in college…son is a football player for Marshall (D-1)…so sounds like an athletic/football guy

ditto. if clay likes him - good enough for me.

I think some wondered when Stacy Lewis was put on the Chancellor’s advisory committee to look for the Arkansas AD. So maybe she was the ace in the search. Her husband is Gerrod Chadwell, women’s golf coach at Houston. Maybe they pointed Steinmetz in the right direction. Here’s the link to the bio on Stacy’s husband: … 46499.html
