Josh Elander, the volunteer coach at Arkansas last season, served as the head coach in Tennessee’s series-clinching win over Kentucky today. Tony Vitello and pitching coach Frank Anderson both were ejected Saturday and given suspensions from the SEC for “prolonged arguing.” Vitello also has to miss next Friday’s game against Vanderbilt unless he wins an appeal.
Tony is a dandy. Has some fire. He’ll figure it out. Young head coaches have to get ejected now and then. And, figure out what they can do and then learn from it. Dave got ejected a few times early on in his career. Seems to not push to that limit any more.
