Today is Jon’s final day at Arkansas after 14 years. He will be the new AD at Texas-Arlington.
I spoke to Jon, Hunter Yurachek and Jeff Long this week about his time here. I enjoyed writing this profile.

They had a reception Thursday. He is much loved. He has a wonderful, engaging personality. He will be missed by the department.
My family has a long relationship with his family. My brother Butch worked with his dad at Arizona so he knew my brother as a boy. We have had many talks about those days.

Good for him. I wonder if we will promote within or have other plans?
Hunter told me he is working on hiring someone new for the position. He said some of Jon’s roles might be reallocated to others already in the building, so the new hire might have some different responsibilities.
Excellent piece Matt. All the best to Mr. Fagg at UTA. He’s obviously been a big part of the terrific turnabout in football and basketball.
