Dennis Dodd has an article on cbssports.com about how Dunn created the 3-3-5 “stack” defense which in one form or another is the way most teams play spread offenses these days.
All I can recall about Joe Lee from his year as the Arkansas DC was that he was a character, including going barefoot in his office most of the time.
Joe Lee Dunn was one of a kind. His up-down drills were legendary. His teams were always in shape and had GREAT pursuit to the ball. I really don’t think it would have mattered how he lined up his guys. They would get to the quarterback and chase the ball wide.
