Just a phone call ! I know they are busy and have very little time but someone needs to call these young men.[/quote:32i3ihqr] They have called AND gone to see the ones they know for sure they want to keep. They may be holding off on the defensive commitments waiting for the DC to decide. Almost all of the offensive staff is on board and they are actively recruiting as we speak. The lack of a phone call is a clear message.

It’s not unusual.[/quote:2z5841wa]
It’s also not honorable.[/quote:2z5841wa]
I’m sure they prioritize who to call and when. I’m not sure it’s fair to say it’s not honorable. Now, if they are sitting at home and eating cheetos instead of calling, then that’s a problem, but I think they have a list to get through, and people that don’t think they want, aren’t top priority to get a call to say “hey we are recruiting and aren’t sure we want you”. “we have been coaches for the last decade and didn’t recruit you then, and just because we are now at arkansas doesn’t suddenly mean we want you.” I mean do they need to call all the 2019 and 2020 recruits that coach B was calling. Where does it end. I’m not saying they shouldn’t call. I’m just saying it clearly wasn’t at the top of the list. Focusing on the task at hand is honorable and I’m sure they are doing that.

Need to call the 2019 and 2020 recruits? No
Need to call a kid that has a chance to sign with another school during the early signing period which begins in a matter of days? Yes. It’s the right thing to do.
Don’t shoot the messenger. I wonder why that is oft said.
I would be willing to lay a big wager that there has been a lot of thought
and reflection on this issue along with all the players that are being gone
over. When they decide perhaps they will take an add out in USA Today
to be sure everyone is privy to all the facts.
The need for attention and pampering is down right nauseous.
He just hired his Rb coach, he possible was waiting for him so they could then evaluate him and didn’t want to give the kid a lean one way or the other until then.
I think it’s being made a bigger deal than it is, he’s only been the coach for a week and has a lot on his plate.
Not a big deal to me. I never thought Jeremy was an SEC caliber back from the day he committed either way. I wish him well, but it’s probably best for him and us that he’s not coming.
No excuse for not calling, didn’t call because it’s not what coaches usually do, wouldn’t want to see a coach break away from that tradition and upset the apple cart! There will come a day when your pacing the floor waiting on a recruit to call and give you his decision but it never comes and you hear on ESPN that he committed to some one else, it’s called reaping what you sow. Not saying the head coach needs to call but have someone call and let the kid know to reopen his recruitment and wish him well. WPS
We have a new coaching staff with a totally different offensive scheme. There are going to be some of the previous staff’s recruits who don’t fit their system or they think they have better ones they can get who the other staff couldn’t. It may just be that they don’t need as many running backs as the previous scheme did and they have enough already on campus.
The new coaches let the kid be the one who decommitted rather than jerking his scholarship offer. Less embarrassing for the recruit and a little less harm of future recruiting in that area. Why would calling up the recruit and telling him he no longer had a scholarship be better for either party? You guys who like to gripe sure do have a long reach sometimes.
Hogmodo, I also see this as useless harping.
These coaches aren’t consulting this board to give them
serious input for decision making.
Just because you ponied up a $100 bucks to be on this board
you do not have the ear of our coaches. You would have
been having fits if you were a recruitnik in the days of
Orville Henry.
No, you do not deserve to know every thought and plan
that is happening as it regards our athletic programs.
