Jarius Wright released by Vikings

Vikings released Jarius Wright yesterday. I hope someone picks him up.

He will get picked up quick… He is still productive

Jarius says he could still wind up back in Minnesota with a pay cut.

That’s life in the NFL. Multi-year contracts aren’t worth the paper they’re printed on, except for the fully guaranteed deal the Vikes just gave Kirk Cousins (the first in NFL history to be fully guaranteed). Guys who can play very well get cut to make room under the salary cap for star free agents, and the roster gets filled in with rookies making the minimum.

I actually thought he’d already been cut last season until I finally saw him in a December game. He wasn’t playing much and had only 18 catches, which was still an improvement from 11 catches in 2016.

Signed with the Panthers today.

Winter will be a whole lot easier.

I think Jarius has a shot at starting this fall and it’s a good move long term… he is one of my favorite Hogs of all time, always hustling and blocking for teammates down field.
