Jared Ridder Monday afternoon update...

Just talked to former Springfield Hillcrest and current Bentonville head coach Dick Rippee about Jared, who is now 6-7, 210.

Jared only has interest in three schools and he is likely to end up at either Arkansas or Missouri State, who both have shown interest in landing him.

Because he started school at Xavier in May and already has nine credit hours in the bank, there is a chance - likely a good one per Coach Rippee - that he could eligible for the first semester of the 2018-2019 season.

That would involve getting into school soon at Arkansas (where his girlfriend and Rippeeā€™s daughter Rachel is a sophomore om the volleyeball team) or Missouri State (where he has friends) and getting some more hours through intercession classes.

If that is not possible he would be ready to play in mid-December.

Because Xavier is giving him a full release, he will be a redshirt freshman next season with 4 years to play 4 regardless of when he is eligible.

Jared has nothing but good things to say about Xavier, but it was a number of factors that led to him deciding to get closer to home.

The decision will come quickly.

Cool, thanks for update Dudley.
