I don’t see the connection myself. Joe Ferguson was signed from Shreveport Woodlawn high school in La. Feb. 1969 recruiting class.
A John Booty was signed from the same high school in 1970. He only stay at Arkansas for one year before transferring to another school. Booty was the father of the # one rated high school QB in 90s who sign to play pro baseball and later play for LSU.

I remember some time ago about 1996 when Arkansas lost recruiting battle to Tn. on LB Robert Peace. Robert who is Joe Ferguson’s nephew, sign with Tn when Joe was the QB Coach at Arkansas.
John Chavis got Robert Peace to Tennessee as they finished 10-2 that year. (Arkansas 4-7)
