Should be the theme for AR football team this year. Subpar performance on two of three nonconference games, had us all scratching our head and asking how bad are we? Then SEC game against AU revealed the offense’s weakness, thin offensive line and totally bad “special team”. But we learned that defense has some ingredients of an SEC quality and caliber. Then in TAM game, the defense kept us in the game throughout (except hand in the face penalties) and offense sputtered mostly but to manage few drives and 17 points; certainly, that is an improvement. The special team gave up that first TD, then covered and punted better, and made a field goal; Again improvement. The main problem with our team is the depth in talent that breaks down the consistency. Meanwhile, the improvement gives us a glimmer of hope that we may win a game or two in SEC before it’s over.
