Imagine what this staff can do when it’s filled out....

Each additional coach may be in on several high profile recruits.

Let’s hope they are! What I want to see is sucess recruiting in Texas!

i want to see success recruiting SEC talent from Texas and Oklahoma. Beating the likes of Tulsa, SMU La Tech et all is not going to cut it in the SEC. I remain hopeful that this staff can do that when given time to build that type of relationship that they can go head to head with Oklahoma, A$M and LSU

I agree. Signing more Tx kids won’t matter unless we are beating major programs for them. It will be hard to gauge right now because they are getting a late start. The in-state Bishop pickup appears to be big

Go take a look at Woods tape, the kid can ball out. Also, he did not go to camps and play that “game”. It has zero impact on his ability.

If you can’t get excited about today’s results, I can’t help you… But if McFadden is stoked, then I’m stoked.

Also… 2019 is shaping up to be a monster recruiting year for the Hogs, Just hide and watch.

Coach Morris gets a pass on this class. He just needs to hold what we got and then add what he can to fill out the class. If he can get a couple of difference makers in this class, then kudos to him. Fortunately, this isn’t a class where we need to sign 25. Next class we will see how effective the new staff will be at recruiting. I have a feeling the new staff will out perform the previous in every category. I’m excited and feel optimistic about the future. I think coach Morris will be able to get better players here than he could get at SMU for obvious reasons. His reputation and connections in Texas will pay off. He should be much more successful recruiting to Arkansas and the SEC than at SMU. I’m going to predict we have a top 20 class next year.

He wont get a pass in 2 or 3 years. If he isnt performing, everyone will point to this year and talk about how crappy of a recruiter he is.

That is the value of a six year contract .

Don’t be surprised if he is signing kids to open pipelines at certain schools. There is nothing wrong with signing 3 stars that have great film against other Texas HS football players.

I am not nearly as worried about how good the offensive recruits will be for this system as I am defense. If we do just a little better on OL recruiting that should be plenty to run an effective offense. I also have a sneaking suspicion that several of the OL on the current roster will look better next year in the new system, which appears to be much easier to learn and execute.

It’s much more difficult to scheme your way out of talent issues on defense. We need immediate help at safety, at least for depth, as well as at NG and LB. I’m skeptical about getting immediate help for the defense, especially with no DC in place. I’m somewhat more hopeful that several defensive prospects who can be good players in a couple of years can be signed. But I really think that any big improvement in defensive recruiting will be in the 2018-19 class. Whether this staff can recruit big-time talent on defense is of course, the single biggest question facing the program.

Good points and that makes the flip of Bishop and Gooden’s, apparent, intent to still sign with the Hogs very encouraging. The first offer CCM made was to a defensive back committed to Oklahoma and I believe he is coming on an official visit this weekend. He also has offerred Billy Ferrell, a nose tackle from Fordyce who appears to have good potential. Can’t wait to see if the defensive recruiting takes a leap up when a DC is finally named. Maybe, there is already a DC approving these offers and approving us not pursuing some of the former committments like Hanspard? Maybe we got us a “he who must not be named” DC headed our way who is still actively coaching somewhere else and does not want to be a distraction to his current team!
