One of the first games I remember as a kid was the gator against UNC.
It will always be the Gator Bowl to me.
One of the things I’m most annoyed with about college football over the past couple of decades has been the corporate naming of bowl games. To me they’ll always go by their traditional names. The Gator & Peach had to give up their traditional name altogether. At least the Sugar, Cotton & Orange still have those names as part of their title. Of course the newer bowls don’t have traditional names at all. They’re just the Whatever-corporate-sponsor-of the-year Bowl.
