UA hockey club hosting first of a two-game weekend series at the Jones Center in Springdale. Kamani Johnson was supposed to drop the first puck tonight but Muss apparently called a late practice.
Game was delayed because Purdue’s bus was late arriving from Indiana. The Boilermakers finally arrived, but the YouTube video stream indicates their legs are still on the bus. Late second period, it’s Arkansas 8, Purdue 1.
IceHogs are ranked #6 in the ACHA Division 3; Purdue is #10. Both will be in the national tournament in Boston later this month. Maybe without the long bus ride PU will play better tomorrow night.
9-1 at the end of the second period. IceHogs scored 6 goals in the second 20 minutes.
National tournament begins March 16th. Hogs will be in a pool with Florida Gulf Coast, Oakland University and Michigan. Pool winner advances to the final four. IceHogs have made the championship game before but lost to Hope College, which is again ranked #1.

Is there anyplace one could purchase a hockey jersey such as the player in the picture is wearing?
In general, I’m not a “fan” of wearing jerseys…but hockey jerseys are a bit different, because they’re almost like rugby shirts or sweaters. At least, for me…
Anyone know?
As a matter of fact, they do sell jerseys, helping to pay for the club (ice time, travel, etc.). I found it the other night. (They also solicit donations through the University of Arkansas Foundation; you designate the gift to Men’s Hockey Club).
This site, however, does not have the running Hog logo seen in the photo above, but it has plenty of Front Facing Hog, which has become absurdly popular (part of the soccer team’s crest for instance). Also has the Christmas sweater motif I commented on last week.
