We’ve only played the Prairie Chickens once since they beat us in the Elite Eight in '91. We beat them in Maui in 2005. I was there when we beat them in Barnhill in 1986, which was the first game that gave you the inkling that this Hawgball thing might work.

Me too. That was one of my favorite games to ever see at Barnhill.
I was there, Tim Scott got hot that game. Andrew Lang played an outstanding game against Danny Manning

Yes he did. 34 points. Manning scored 26. The late Ron Huery scored 19 to support Scott. Andrew Lang had 10 points, 4 boards, so not a super number performance
Just seems natural that we would play them more often. Probably has a lot to do with us being nationally irrelevant for 20+ years, but that page has, thankfully, turned.

Iowa is not much farther from Lawrence than Fedvul, and the Hawkeyes have played Kansas 7 times since 1950. We’ve played them 12. Iowa has been pretty good in hoops too. If you’re not in the same conference, that happens. They haven’t put us against them in the Big 12 Challenge either; perhaps that will change.

I looked back at the Kansas series. We played home and home in 1976 and 1977 (won both) and 1985 and 1986 (each team won at home). Before that, six straight years from 1961 to 1966 (KU won 5 of the 6). Last two were Elite Eight and Maui. Only one meeting before 1960, a 1946 tournament in Kansas City.
Tim was like 1-9 in the first have or there about, Nolan told him at half, you are a shooter, you are going to make some, keep shooting we are going to need the ones you make.
Little billy self would never bring a team to Walton he knows we could beat him.
