Hogs to host 2 top defensive prospects Thursday

Hope we can get’em both. I sure hope Taurean Carter is getting close to 100%…we still are short on interior slobber knockers. I need to go back and review transfers, but I don’t remember getting any big ready-to-go interior DLs.

Grew up in Mississippi and have never heard of that place LOL(way up around Southaven which is close to Memphis that’s probably why) We sure do need to start getting those kind of guys that’s the only way we’re going to make the leap into being a great defense

I’m curious, Billy, how did you become a Hog fan living in Mississippi?
I’m sure others here know, but I haven’t heard the story.

Two talented defensive players rated in top 100 prospects, wow. We need them as Hogs on our way to a serious run for a twelve win regular season. These are the level of players we need to be a serious contender.

This was somewhat of a first today.

Jarcoby told me this morning he and Kamarion were headed to the Hill but I was on my way to a doctor’s appointment and wasn’t able to work on the laptop and get the story out earlier.

So when I got to the doctor’s office I had to put together the story on my phone which creates some challenges and adds to the time to post something. I’m pretty sure this is the first story I posted strictly from my phone. Probably took 45 minutes longer to post.

Hope this is the last one posted via phone. Not a fan.

Might get an indicator of how good our new defensive Coaches are.

It is a very Strange story indeed.I was born in Little Rock and we moved to Ms when I was 2 yrs when my Dad died and Mom was left with 3 boys age 2,6,11 old so I basically know nothing about the State of Arkansas other than I was born there and when I found that out I said I will always root for the Razorbacks bc it was where I was born.

I have only been to Ark one time and that was in 2005 when we met my ex wife’s sister and Husband for a Football game.I have often wondered why I am so passionate about the Hogs when I really know nothing about the State but its one of those things that has progressed little by little bc the Hogs were always good in Football when I was growing up so it was easy to be a fan, didn’t really get into following basketball until the triplets and baseball later when they got to WS.I had to wait until was dark to get the basketball games. So there you have it,I have told this a time or two over the 20+ yrs on the various boards we have.I use to have to call Rick Shaefer for my news before the message boards.

Wait a minute - you’ve been in the State of Arkansas only 1 total time in your life?! Dude that is crazy! I cant imagine how much of a fan you would be if you had spent any time there! We grew up in the northeast part of the state (close to Jonesboro), spent summers on Norfork and Greers Ferry, Spring, Little Red and Buffalo rivers! Man those were the days!

BTW, God bless your Mom for raising you boys!

I agree with Bayou, Billy. You gotta come back up here. The Buffalo River alone is worth it.

Yep only 1 time and it was in November when the leaves were the at the peak of their color. We just stopped the car and looked over all the Ozarks as we were driving through them. It was unbelievable!! The campus was just as stunning with all the foliage.

Thank you!yeah I was very blessed to have an absolutely incredible strong Mom she remarried when I was 8 years old to a very fine man and that was a big help to her and us but for 6 years she had all that by herself and she was only 28 when my dad died. Incredibly strong woman I get my work ethic from her.

The Buffalo brings back fond memories when I was a boy. Boy scout camping at Camp Orr, swimming at Pruitt and floating over a period of time from Ponca to Buffalo State Park in those days in a flatbottom boat.

Lake Cormorant, Ms is 5-10 miles south of Memphis on Hwy 61.

Yeah I had to look it up LOL that’s Ole Miss territory because they’re right there in his neighborhood hopefully we can get him but we will obviously have a whole lot more competition than Ole Miss by the way it sounds

He is not far from KJ’s home in North Panola but if he can play , Kiffin will know about it and be after him. Bama has history of getting top d line out of Memphis as well. It shows no matter where you are they will find you. But it is long way from mountains to flat Delta land. Our coach has his work cut out for him to get him.
He is also on another top defensive linemen in Meridian , Ms but so is Bama and that is their back yard.

Yeah I agree about having our work cut out to get him I’m not going to let my mind think we will unless RD mentions otherwise…
Yeah I know exactly where Meridian is about an hour from where I grew up and you’re right not very far from Tuscaloosa at all
