Hogs' Musselman flexes some recruiting muscle (column)...

Everyone is hoping that we will not have 3 on 5 on offense anymore. However, it should be noted the players that caused 3 on 5 are still on the team. Gabe and Harris.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I expect that having logged so many minutes last year, would settle Gabe and Harris down and they will be much better shooters next year. That is the hope.

If Harris does not improve his shooting, he will most likely sit. I don’t know if we can afford to do that with Gabe.

I think you can get by with an offensively challenged blue collar banger at the 4. Tough to get by with a PG who is not a threat beyond the arc. Definitely don’t need to have both of those guys on the court at the same time.

I guess I’ll continue to be in the minority on this but, I don’t think any of the returnees NEED to be a 3pt threat. They NEED to be a scoring threat tho IMO. if any or all of them could develop a mid range or pull-up game, it would benefit the team greatly. Harris has enough speed, quickness and athleticism to free himself up for a shot. He just wasn’t good at finishing or getting his defender on their heels and pulling up. Gabe was either going to take a 3pt shot (because he was being dared to) or he’d do the predictable hard drive and spin move. No pull-up or mid-range game. Bailey would take mid-range shots. He just wasn’t hitting them.
