Hogmaestro had a rough afternoon

Left home to go to a meeting near the end of the basketball game. A woman pulled out in front of him and they collided, hard enough that the airbag was deployed. He reports he and the other driver are okay. He has a sore shoulder, a sore back, a headache and decreased hearing in his left ear, where the airbag hit him. Mary was not in the car; she came to pick him up afterward. Sounds like the car is toast but he’s relatively good considering.

Wow!!! That is so scary… Definitely glad everyone was able to walk away safely will be praying for them!

Oh no! I’m thankful Mary was not with him, but IIRC air bag deployment totals a car, regardless of other damage.

Thanks for the news, disturbing as it is.

Hope he recovers quickly and no lingering effects.

Crap! Sometimes bad things happen to good people. Glad he’s (relatively) ok. Thank God for airbags.

I was traveling down the highway several years ago, listening to a Leonard Cohen song about accepting God’s decision about whether you live or die, and a Duke student on the way to his Phi Beta Kappa induction (I am not kidding) ran a stop sign, I had no way to brake in time, both cars demolished, neither one of us seriously hurt due to airbags.

Funny thing, I was coming from a class, my wife was at a UNC basketball game, I told her the situation, and then told her she should wait until the end of the game to get there. I was perfectly satisfied to stand freezing by the side of the road, basketball is important. She said “Are you crazy?”.

I wouldn’t let them total my van when my airbags deployed in September of 2015. I got it repaired for what they gave me for it, with a hundred bucks left over. Nearly 8 years later, it’s still humming along.

Thanks Jeff, Clay and everyone on here. Y’all have been like family since…geez…the very first iteration of this board back in the oooold days. (Anyone remember the old board on PRODIGY?!).

I am fine. Left ear getting better. I do have an appointment with the ear specialist Tuesday. Me not having my hearing would be like a coach not being able to see. Thankfully I didn’t lose my hearing. Its just off a tad. Still conducting all my choirs. Church. Charleston symphony. My pro choir (named after my mom and dad) have a concert on April 23.

Mary was not with me…thank god. She’s having pain as her nerves regenerate from her surgery this July.

Car is totaled. Boo. It was a brand new Rav 4 Hybrid. Another is on the way thankfully. White this time (took what I could get).

All is well. Except for Murder U. just taking the lead. Loved that beat down of my grad school alma mater LSWhoo today.

Love you guys. Namaste and God Bless!
