Hog women in second place in NCAA golf regional

First round today at EOE-A. Hogs are at -4, three shots back of the host Whorns. Top six teams will advance to the national tournament at Mobilehoma Lite. Maria Fassi led the Hogs with a three-under 69 which is tied for second in the individual standings, while Dylan Kim shot 70 and Kaylee Benton was even par. The non-counter today was Alana Uriell at 78. All four of the EOE counters were at par or better on their home course (wait 'till we get the NCAA nationals at the Blessings next year).

Hogs currently with a seven-shot cushion over the two teams tied for the sixth and final qualifying spot, Florida and BYU.

They had a tremendous front nine building a 3 stroke lead. Back nine hurt them but they managed to hang in there

Wonder if wind picked up or is back nine that much more difficult?

Survive and advance. Sixth place on Wednesday is just as good as first. Obviously we’d rather not have to sweat it out, and it would be fun to beat Texass on its home course, but just move on is the main priority.
