Historical footnote to Scottie Pippen's bad contract

As detailed last night on The Last Dance.

Scottie’s agent was Jimmy Sexton. Yes, that Jimmy Sexton. Would have been nice if they’d talked to JS about why Pip took that deal, which even Jerry Reinsdorf told him not to sign. Maybe they did ask to talk to Sexton and he refused.

Scottie explained why on the show. Immediate need for long term money. Had a lot of people depending on him. He has no one to blame but himself.

  1. The OWNER told you not to sign it because it was a bad deal.
  2. The owner was notorious for not ripping up contracts and doing a new one.
