I like Mike,but I sure miss Hawgball from late 80’s to late 90’s. watching some of those old games from mayday, Big Nasty and Scotty,to Kareem,Pat,and Derrick Hood I had FORGOTTEN how good we were. Sure wished we could see those days again…

Never coached basketball and don’t claim to be an expert, but I think the era of Hawgball has been made significantly more difficult by officiating changes, television time outs and now the review process. In the old days Nolan’s teams would take the other teams legs. Even bad starts were less problematic, because by midpoint of the second half, as said, fatigue had made cowards of the other teams.
This is why I sometimes take issue with our style. Seems it requires too many things to all be on at the same time, otherwise we are paddling upstream.

Great coaches adjust to officiating and other changes. If coach cannot adjust, the future is less than promising.
