My dad is actually with me now. He says my great-great-great grandfather was Acadian French and fought on the side of the North in the Civil War. Family was in Louisiana when the war ended and chose to stay in the Alexandria area.

I spent a couple weeks at Camp Beauregard in 1980 evaluating a National Guard Engineer Battalion. Folks throughout that area were very friendly to me when in my US Army uniform. Happy Birthday! GHG!
