Caroline Lyles my late nieces daughter signed her NLI with Tulsa yesterday. It’s been quite the journey for Caroline and our family. Her mom (Donna Lyles) passed away on Mothers Day 3 years ago next month. Caroline was 14 and her sister Emily was 18. Caroline received her first D1 offer from Coach Rechelle Turner at Murray State during an unofficial visit there when she was 14. Donna called us early the next week and said it may have been the best weekend of her life. Thank you Coach Turner. Caroline ended up with well over 30 D1 offers but decided that Tulsa fit her perfectly. She will join Lee Mayberry’s daughters on that roster. I could write a book about all Caroline has faced since her mom’s death. Can’t wait to see her succeed at Tulsa. She’s already succeeded at life.
Congrats Caroline, and keep going!
Congratulations way to go!!
Wonderful! Keep us updated.
Careful, Danny…a button might pop off your shirt, lol. Very happy for you and Caroline.
Wonderful!
Congrats, that’s awesome!
Congratulations, love hearing these feel good stories of young people persevering through difficult circumstances. Wishing her the very best ! WPS
Congrats LD!!! Can’t wait to keep up with her journey.
I can’t imagine losing a parent at such a young age God bless her.
I followed her on Twitter and saw I congratulated her on her Cincinnati offer. Did she get a look from Neighbors? I’m trying to refresh my memory.
Neighbors never offered. She spent time at his camps and gave her good feedback and advice. Mike also talked he up to other D1 coaches. Her dad was diagnosed with throat cancer after they moved from Fayetteville to Argyle Texas last summer. He’s doing good now but it’s been rough. Seriously she’s been through a lot. Her mom was like another daughter to us. It’s been a tough road for all but through faith and perseverance it’s getting better. She loves her coach and teammates at Tulsa. I’ll be traveling a lot next season to support her.
I think the road to Tulsa goes through Norfork.
From my memory, if you drive through Norfork, you will end up in Old Joe or maybe Calico Rock.
Congratulations to her and her entire family. God bless all of you! These stories are why I love this board and why I would never leave. I would have never known her journey otherwise. Thanks for bringing it to us.
Congratulations to Caroline.
I think that fly rod will fit in the RV……
Congrats to Caroline, it’s now official. Not a doubt in my mind that she’ll be great on the court and in the classroom.
Yes congrats!!
Old Joe has a sign. But I can’t figure out where there are any homes. You see two. Maybe they are off the road a bit. I have a buddy who turkey hunts there. More turkeys than people at Old Joe.
LD congratulations to Caroline & hats off to you for all the support and enthusiasm you have shown for that amazing young lady through the good/great times as well as some very difficult times.
Will look forward to more updates on Caroline in the future.
