Loved Sundown, but my introduction to Gordon Lightfoot was The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald

Canadian Railroad Trilogy i thought was his best one…listening to it one can just see the trans Canadian railroad being built in the mind

I like to think he and the lost crew of the Edmund Fitzgerald are enjoying a cold one out there, somewhere.

He honored those men and their families in a touching, profound way.

They don’t make story tellers like Gordon anymore.
Such a shame.
He will definitely be missed.

We keep losing our great musicians from a time when music was great.
There is a definite void from that era with the loss of Gordon Lightfoot. RIP!

For three long days and three long nights
They wept and they mourned and then
She returned to her work and her weavin’
And they tried to forget about Cherokee Bend
