Been a critic of some of Briles play calling. But I too am glad he’s returning. His play calling, for the most part was very good last season.

His halftime adjustments were pretty darned good.

As long as he has Sam to tell him every once in awhile, “Run the damn ball”, he will be fine. they make a good team between them.

In the bowl game after one of those WR pass screw ups Chuck said “just run the ball”. There was dead air for a few seconds. I could imagine he and Quinn turning off their mics and laughing. :joy:

Not sure where people get that Briles does not run the ball…

Nothing like keeping the band together! WPS

Maybe should add N & S on that. Just a Sam saying that is true.

I get a little frustrated with his tendency to get a little too cutesy at times, but on balance he"s a pretty fair country coordinator. Glad he’s staying.

Devil’s advocate: maybe we need to try the weird stuff every once in a while, whether it works or not, just to keep the defense guessing.

No problem at all with that, but when it is not there, just tuck it and get what you can instead of making it worse (and not on the goal line!).
