Friday forecast

There is a 70% chance of snow and sleet in Fayetteville on Friday. There is a game scheduled for 3 p.m. that day, but it’s unlikely it will be played.

Dave Van Horn indicated today they are expecting to alter this weekend’s four-game series. The forecast is supposed to be in the 60s on Thursday and Sunday, so those days should be playable. It would not surprise to see a doubleheader on one of those days. Saturday’s game might depend on how well the field is cleared after Friday’s weather. Saturday is supposed to be above freezing, but not by much.

Van Horn said Illinois-Chicago has committed to coming for the weekend, so there will be games. It could be that there are fewer than four games, though.

Based on some more conversations, it would not surprise to see a Thursday doubleheader and a single game Sunday. They are waiting to see how the forecast progresses until anything is finalized.

It definitely sounds like if a doubleheader will be played, it will be on Thursday. I believe DVH said after Swatter’s Club today that they will not play two games on Sunday since UIC needs to get home.

Yep. He said it and that’s what Matt reported.
