Former Hog coaching in DII title game

Steadman Campbell, son of Louis Campbell, is coaching in the NCAA Division II title game Saturday in Kansas City. He is offensive coordinator at North Alabama. The opponent is Northwest Missouri. The game is at 4:30 p.m. at Arrowhead Stadium.

I talked to Louis today. He’s driving up from Sheridan to see the game. He has bought tickets inside and outside in the stadium. The inside tickets amount to what is a sports bar at ground level in a corner of the stadium. So he’s got a place to go warm up and watch on TV if it gets bitter cold. It will get bitter cold. Game time temps are going to be about 20, falling to 15. Wind will be 25-35 out of the north.

Steadman was a punt returner for the Hogs until tearing ligaments in his ankle. He was a standout receiver at Fayetteville High. He lettered in 2000 and 2001 for the Hogs.

It’s going to be a long, cold day for the Campbells. NW Missouri is tough on any day and they will acclimate to the cold much better than the Alabama boys.
