It appears that the NCAA is so married to the status quo that they’re willing to risk the Supreme Court giving them the death blow. Which it will.
Guidelines are only of interest if someone actually attempts enforcement. Don’t hold your breath.
I wonder if the conference commissioners and the schools really believe that Congress could set up a new structure that would be at least marginally legal. When Congress doesn’t do anything next year all this “we tried” stuff may make it easier to bring in the actual new structure(s) and a post-NCAA world for the Power Schools in revenue producing sports.
