Extra year for fall sports athletes approved

By NCAA Division I Board of Directors, which also decided that athletes can’t be required to waive their legal rights regarding COVID-19 as a condition to play, and schools can’t take away scholarships if a kid opts out of his season because of the pandemic. The extra year is for football, soccer, volleyball, cross country and any other fall sports.

Not every athlete who could will take advantage of the extra year, and for those who do, coaches get to do some roster management.
