Former Oklahoma OL commitment Andrew Raym, 6-4, 305 of Broken Arrow, Okla. said he talked to O-line coach Dustin Fry an hour or so ago and has plans to visit Arkansas this summer. He said Fry is very easy to talk to and is the type coach he would like to play for.
He and his father visited Fayetteville on Feb. 24.
National recruiting analyst Tom Lemming of CBS Sports Network rates him a 5-star prospect and one of the top five O-linemen in the 2020 class.
Now this is exciting news! I’ve heard Allan Trimble and David Alexander (Broken Arrow coach) both rave about this kid. David was an NFL lineman and his son an outstanding Jenks lineman who played at University of Tulsa and graduated from Jenks with my twins. David knows a great one when he sees one.
Stillwater is closer to Tulsa than Fayetteville by 30-45 minutes and Norman is about the same distance from Tulsa as Fayetteville. But OU is really hard to steal any recruit that’s good enough to go there. Just the 50:years of elite teams to compete with.
Distance from Broken Arrow to Stillwater: 85 miles
Distance from Broken Arrow to Fayetteville: 110 miles
Distance from Broken Arrow to Norman: 135 miles
Probably none of those miles mean much when it comes to a 5-star in Oklahoma.
Oh I thought we were a lot closer. Those are all basically equal. One thing to think about though is yes, it is hard to swing them away from OU, but he was already committed to them and decided to decommit.
