Burks is out for the season and he was most of their offense. And played safety as well. But I’m fairly shocked Ken Hatfield’s alma mater hung up 60 on them.
Warren has a lot of talent, but their season was completely dependent on the play of Treylon Burks. He did everything for them. Anytime they needed a play, the ball was in his hands after a catch, running the ball, or throwing a TD pass. Made huge plays on defense. Was even great at punting. Very sad deal for Treylon and Warren.
They will get it together. There is a lot of speed, size, & talent besides Burks on that squad and Hembree knows how to coach them. It will take them a little while to get it back together.
They’d better do it fast. Playoffs start Friday. They play CAC in the first round, and Arkadelphia looms in the second round in what would be a rematch of last year’s 4A championship game (with a rather controversial ending). Arkadelphia is only 5-5 but won its last five after an 0-5 start and is starting to look like the team that rolled through last year’s playoffs.
You are right about doing it fast, but they have a lot of team speed and, Miller, the only player on the field who will be on an SEC team next year. If Bo can get them focused after losing their bell cow, they can be a very good HS team. JMVVVVHO

The Cougars are one of the few teams in 4-A with the speed to match up with the Slumbering Jacks. I do expect Warren to wake up and put on their playoff pants though. Also keep an eye on those ding dong daddies from Dumas.
Dumas looks to be having a great season as well
