i really don’t see how the coaching staff is gonna make the numbers work adding one or more players
i don’t know for certain, but it seems like the staff is still seeking a possible replacement for Toney, reaching out to players like Carey, Council, and Dennis, etc all 3/4 combo types in the 6-6 to 6-7 range
No way Muss is interested in all these guys. 99% of this HAS to be a smokescreen. Like RD said, it is nice to see Arkansas as a “sexy” finalist on these lists, but smoke doesn’t always mean fire.
Apparently the coaching staff has legit interest in these 2 ex-wichita st players
Dexter Dennis 6-6 combo forward: Athletic wing who can play as a stretch-four… Highlight reel dunker and knock-down three-point shooter… One of the nation’s best defenders; can guard a variety of scorers at the 1-4 positions… Stands 6-6 but has a 6-10 wingspan
Ricky Council IV 6-7 combo forward: Long-limbed wing/shooting guard who impacts the game in a variety of ways with his elite athleticism… Serial dunker who loves to attack the rim and has the long-range shooting touch (44 percent from three as a freshman) to keep defenses honest… Described as a high-motor guy with the tools to be a versatile defender. Named to the American Athletic Conference’s All-Freshman Team… Appeared in 21 of the 22 games with one start and averaged 7.1 points and 3.4 rebounds in 15.6 minutes… Made 12 threes on 44 percent accuracy and was 35-of-55 at the foul line (.636)… Drew an average of 5.03 fouls-per-40-minutes… Was one of the league’s most impactful bench scorers, averaging 18.2 points-per-40-minutes (11th-best among AAC regulars)… One of just three players to average 20+ points-per-40 during AAC play, putting up 20.3 points over 13 conference contests.
still looking for a Toney replacement?
i honestly don’t understand how they can make the roster #s work adding more players?
the transfer portal deadline has passed…no one else currently on the roster can transfer out to make room…so obviously Jaxon, Devo and Kamani will be at Arkansas next season
Arkansas is bound to the Mitchell twins unless they decide to move on… maybe that’s what happens, but how long will they wait around?..if the twins wait around another month…where can they go?..most school’s rosters will be filled by then
i guess it’s possible one or more of the high school commitments don’t make it to campus…who knows?
Pretty sure these guys want to play, not ride the pine. You already stated earlier that we are loaded, and we are. Muss isn’t going to start playing 13 guys.
I hope the only player Muss is seriously recruiting for next year is J Will.
