I think had that second game been nine innings, Arkansas had a good chance to come back and win. Kentucky’s bullpen has not been good this year and they had already thrown a lot of pitchers earlier in the day.
Arkansas moves to the LSU series with a two-game lead in the SEC West over Mississippi State and the winner of the LSU/Ole Miss game today. The Razorbacks could clinch the division next weekend, but it likely won’t be determined until the final weekend.
Yes the shortened game hurt us. Fletcher’s ball is also probably not a DP on a grass field. I thought he nubbed it just enough to get it by the pitcher.

[/quote]For these reasons, why not bunt. 1 out, the fastest Hog on third. It was a gimme. I understand going for all the marbles…but the more efficient approach would have been a bunt to tie…play out the bottom of the 7th and kill em in extra innings. (Or maybe everyone just wanted to go home quickly).
The one thing that couldn’t happen, did. Sac fly, single, we tie the game. Gapper, we take the lead. Strikeout or popup, we get another at bat. DP was what couldn’t happen.
