DC Chavis might not be the one to hire

Over the past week on this forum and the Hog insider forum, the negative comments about hiring DC Chavis have out weighed the positive
comment by 80 to 20. Looking like Chavis has not been such a good DC over the past few years and has been getting worse, as a DC.
With our new HC Morris saying he will be hiring the Best DC there is, I am now hoping Morris didn’t mean he would hire the best from A & M.
Correct me if you think I’m wrong about this, but DC Chavis appears to be someone looking for a place to land before he retires.

Chad Glasgow, TCU. 12th in the country in points allowed,17.6. Can recruit Texas and Oklahoma.
Hope Chad gives Chad a call.

Glasgow coaches safeties and has an impressive list that have made it to the NFL. Safeties have been getting roasted by Hog fans and opponents alike over the past few years. Plus, he’s learned from Gary Patterson, who has a great defensive mind. Just some positives. I’m sure there are negatives.

Yeah, some negatives, such as 412 yards allowed per game.

Or maybe Chad shouldn’t pay attention to forum posters and go with who he feels is the best option, because, well he knows a good defense.

I don’t care who he hires, if it’s chavis, be excited. It’s a game changer when a DC walks into a house and tells a kid he’s has 40+ 1st round picks from Myles Garrett to Patrick Peterson.

If that’s who Chad thinks is the best option, I certainly see why.

He’s a great offensive mind, and knows a great defensive mind when he sees it.

I’ll support whoever he hires, as long as it’s not Paul Rhodes or robb smith.

I agree with bigwilly

Let Morris hire who he wants. It’s his fanny in the sling if he fails. And I suspect CM will be the one picking the defensive assistants, not necessarily Chavis or whoever the DC will be.

Bigwilly has it exactly right! Swine Too!

[/quote]I agree, but I suspect that the new DC will be allowed some input on the rest of the defensive staff.
