Daniel Gafford's insane stats so far...

Through five games, the Arkansas signee and standout El Dorado senior center Daniel Gafford is averaging 20.8 points, 20.2 rebounds and 10.2 blocks per game.

And that’s against top quality foes, not against cupcakes.

Can’t wait to see him on the hill. Future all american

I don’t know if you have looked at Reggie Perry’s stats. They are double insane. He is a five star in the making. Scoring machine.

Speaking of insane. Letting CMA go if he doesn’t make the dance this year, would be just that. Good times are right around the corner!

While you are certainly entitled to your opinion, and I am not advocating one way or the other, would you feel that CMA has earned a seventh year if he doesn’t make the NCAA tournament this year?

Don’t know if he would have earned it or not, but I do think that pulling the plug with so much talent either committed or signed, would be a huge mistake IMHO.

I just wrote a long post about Dusty and Kingsley being to blame instead of Mike if we fail to reach the big dance, but then deleted it.

At very worst Dusty and Moses can be great backups. Dusty is looking like he needs a jolt to break his funk, and he probably is sixth man award material honestly. While Moses is a solid starter for his rebounding and defense regardless of how he handles the pressure of his preaseason honors. Mike needs to make them find their roles, whatever that is. This team is too deep and talented to rely on just a couple guys.

Bottom line, with this cream puff non-con schedule and weak SEC, Mike better get to twenty wins minimum. I don’t think twenty wins gets us in the dance, but it is enough to make it controversial if we are left out. We would at least go to NIT, get home court advantage, and need to make the final four in New York to keep his job.

A worse outcome would be shocking. Butt if Jeff can stick with Bert through this football season’s dumpster fire without any above average recruits on the horizon, I don’t see how he could Fire Mike.

Absolutely.

Let me ask you this, if he doesn’t make the NCAAT and all of the future players say they will leave if he is shown the door, will you still want him to go??

  1. I never said I would want him to go.
  2. Your scenario is incredibly unlikely and I’d venture to say unprecedented in the history of college basketball.
  3. The coach called in to replace CMA would have his own recruits
  4. Did you feel John Pelphrey deserved another year? The class he signed, but didn’t get to coach, was highly ranked and thought to be the one that would bring Arkansas back to prominence.

Big question is why debate this now. Why not wait until it looks like NCAAT bid may be in danger?

That’s fair.

That said, realtime rpi has us going 19-12. I hope they’re way off.

At this point at 5-1, this is not a question.

If the season goes South, then it would be debatable.

Other than Minnesota, nothing has really been negative since last March.

So it is kind of premature speculation at this point.

Dusty off the bench looking pretty good!
