Just brings to the surface again the disppointment in the way the head coach threw him under the bus. A good leader and good coach would have never dumped on a player. Cole is a young human being. No one deserves to be treated the way the head coach treated him. Especially considering the job the head coach had done and was doing at that time.

[/quote]I disagree. Cole had the yips and it never got better. I feel for him, but it is a position that requires results.

Yup. A kicker may only be out there for 4 or 5 plays, but those few chances often win or lose games. He just didn’t get it done with any consistency.
In pre game practice at the TCU game I keyed in on Cole. He was drilling them. The two he missed easy short shots. No way you could continue with him after those misses.
And that pregame was reflective of how he kicked in practices that we were able to see - always consistent. He just never was able to take his practice consistency to the game.
Sounds like my golf game, it doesn’t transition well from the range…
Really, don’t know what you expect this is a Division I program and he just wasn’t getting the job done… Probably a great kid off the field but he had some problems that didn’t help his case…
Yes he had the yips and needed to be benched but CBB didn’t need to throw him under the bus. But he most definitely did!!!
